Director Vetri Maaran has commenced his highly anticipated new film starring actor Silambarasan TR (Simbu), with a working still from the set creating a buzz online. The photo notably features director Nelson Dilipkumar, known for 'Doctor' and 'Jailer', who is confirmed to play a cameo role in the film.

Sources reveal that the movie's story is set in the same universe as Vetri Maaran and Dhanush's cult classic 'Vada Chennai'. Familiar faces from 'Vada Chennai' like Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, and Kishore will reprise their roles. Additionally, actors Kavin and Manikandan are also set to make cameo appearances.

The shooting has begun with a promo shoot, with regular filming expected to start in the coming weeks. While an official announcement is awaited, fans are excited about this connection to the 'Vada Chennai' world. Years ago, Simbu was initially considered for 'Vada Chennai' before Dhanush took over the lead. Director Vetri Maaran has previously hinted at spin-offs and web series within this universe, and Dhanush recently assured fans that 'Vada Chennai 2' is definitely on the cards.
